Grand Rapids to host two weekends of scrimmages

Grand Rapids, Minn. - The Grand Rapids Thunderhawks will be hosting two weekends of scrimmages again this year. The scrimmages will be held on November 21, 22, 28, and 29. On Friday, November 21st, the Thunderhawks will open their exhibition schedule with a 3:30 p.m. tilt with the defending state champion Hill-Murray Pioneers. Rapids will be back on the ice at 7:15 p.m. to do battle with Rochester Century. After a night of rest, Grand Rapids and Rochester Century will pick up right where they left off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22nd. Grand Rapids will cap off the weekend by taking on section 7AA foe, Forest Lake at 11:20 a.m. The day after Thanksgiving, Grand Rapids will be in the heat of scrimmages again. They will take on the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28th. The Thunderhawks will play their final tune up game on Saturday, November 29th vs. Holy Angels at 8:40 a.m. Grand Rapids will also take part in the IRC Jamboree in Virginia on Tuesday, November 25th. The Grand Rapids JV team will play their lone scrimmage Saturday, November 29th at 9:00 a.m. vs. Holy Angels. A full exhibition scrimmage can be viewed below.
