Game Preview:
Grand Rapids has defeated Bloomington Jefferson in each of the last two matchups. It took overtime two years ago and the Thunderhawks prevailed 3-1 last year. Jefferson is currently ranked 6th in the state and is playing some very good hockey. The Jaguars play in one of the toughest sections in the state (section 2AA) with Edina, Burnsville, and Holy Angles all in their section. They also play in the always difficult Lake Conference. Grand Rapids plays in a pretty tough section of their own (section 7AA) with Duluth East, Cloquet, Anoka, Elk River, Forest Lake, and Andover among others in the section. The Jags will look to captains Jeff LaBombard and Tommy O'Donnell to lead the way. Goaltender Jake Swansson and junior forward T.J. Gallus are also captains that will need to play a big role in this game at home for Jefferson. Grand Rapids will look to leading scorer Robb Roy and his line mates Sam Sparen and John Skrbec as well as Tony Palkki and his line mates Jack Moore and Grant Prokop. It will also be key for Sam Rendle and Corey Kosak to have solid games at the blue line for the Thunderhawks.

Last meeting:
Grand Rapids 3, Bloomington Jefferson 1 (1/6/2007) Zach More scored twice and Sam Rendle netted the other Rapid's goal to lead them to a 3-1 win. Rapids outshot Jefferson 38-31 in the game.
