Official game time: 2 hours and 4 minutes

Grand Rapids got off to a great start in their Iron Range Conference battle with the Hibbing Blue Jackets when Matt Jerulle tallied his first career goal just 1:54 into the game. J.R. Mackey and Shane Greniger assisted on the goal. Aaron Jamnick tied things up for Hibbing just under two and a half minutes later as he slipped a pass from Logan Klobuchar past A.J. Underwood for the goal. Grand Rapids outshot Hibbing 11-8 in the first period despite having to kill three penalties and only having one power play of their own. Jamnick started the second period in a big way for Hibbing. Jamnick scored his second goal of the game just 1:51 into the middle frame. Ryan Hanegman and Anthony DeCenzo assisted on the goal. Drew Vechell gave Hibbing a 3-1 lead in his first game back from injury just over nine minutes into the period. Mack Estey and of course, Aaron Jamnick assisted on the Vechell goal. Hibbing dominated the middle frame by outshooting Grand Rapids 18-3. Corey Kosak started one of the wildest endings in Grand Rapids history with 2:59 remaining in the third period. Kosak scored the second Grand Rapids goal and Grant Prokop and Jack Moore picked up assists. The dramatics began with just under a minute to go when A.J. Underwood vacated the Rapid's goal for an extra attacker. After a turnover, Aaron Jamnick shot the puck and the red light never came on and the ref waved off the goal. Jamnick and the Jackets thought it was a goal and started celebrating. Five of the Grand Rapids players skated towards their bench, but Corey Kosak didn't. He picked up the puck and skated down the ice. No whistle had been blown at this point and Kosak beat Hibbing goalie Todd Sandstrom for what appeared to be the game tying goal. Bedlam ensued. Kosak and the Thunderhawks went crazy while Hibbing sat stunned. The three refs got together and also got the goal judge involved. After a very lengthy discussion, it was determined that Jamnick's shot had gone in. Hat trick for Jamnick and a 4-2 win for Hibbing. Hibbing outshot Grand Rapids 33-20 in the game. A.J. Underwood was hit with another tough luck loss by stopping 29/32 shots and Todd Sandstrom earned the win by stopping 18/20 for Hibbing.
